Dec 12: I’ve been banging my head against the wall with my website re-design. All I’m trying to create is a landing page, something most of us will probably need, whether we’re publishing traditionally, hybrid, or on our own.
The challenge is trying to make it easy and appealing for people to pre-order a grief memoir they may not have heard of before. They need to know what they’re going to get from the book, and it has to be something they want. But how can I convey what they’ll get without with our spoiling the story?
TEMBI LOCKE’S MEMOIR WAS A GREAT COMP TITLE FOR THE WIDOW’S GUIDE TO DEAD BASTARDS.
DRAWING FROM TEMBI’S 4,000+ REVIEWS, I GET A SENSE OF WHAT HER READERS WANT MORE OF. Perhaps, my book will give that to them. Now that I know what they’re seeking, I have a clearer chance of using the right language on my website to make a connection with the readers I’m trying to meet.
p.s. Correction: When I took Tembi's class her book had just been published but the Netflix series was not out yet.
